High time we had some more high tea around here.

The Dandelion has just launched a fresh take on the proper afternoon snack, now served daily in those blood-sugar-dropping hours of 3 to 5 p.m.

With an Alice in Wonderland theme, the winter 2015 menu proffers three tea tiers of varying decadence.

Guests can opt for Who Stole the Tarts, a tier of pastries and sweets like Earl Grey macaroons, graham cracker crowns and hazelnut financiers, or Down the Rabbit Hole, a tier of tiny sandwiches and canapés including duck and foie-gras terrine, curry chicken coronation and beet cured salmon with dill crème fraîche. Royal Occasion bridges the savory and sweet and includes two glasses of sparkling wine.

Beverage-wise, The Queen’s Croquet Ground covers the caffeinated portion of the meal with brewed pots of loose leaf tea for two at $4 each, while A Mad Hatter Tea Party revs it up with fortified tea cocktails such as the White Rose (Tito’s vodka, Earl Grey tea, lavender, grapefruit and lemon) or Rooibos Mulled Wine (rooibos tea steeped malbec with cinnamon, clove, orange and brandy).

There’s even The Dormouse, which is mini-tea for children under 12 with peanut butter, banana and honey sandwiches; grilled cheddar sandwiches; scones; and hot chocolate or chamomile tea.

If all that sounds too dainty, there’s always a smattering of à la carte eats from the regular menu such as Welsh rarebit, deviled eggs and the always-amazing house burger.

Either way, you might want to start clearing that afternoon schedule for a spot of tea.
